Beyond exciting parades and rainbow logos, Pride Month is really about action, visibility and meaningful support for LGBTQ+ communities. From the Stonewall riots to the legacy they have led, and from the history being made around the world through fundraisers and movements, the meaning of Pride is expansive, and celebrating Pride with purpose is essential.

This year, we’re spotlighting standout queer-led and queer-supportive initiatives that prove fundraising can be both powerful and personal. From indie pop stars to skincare giants, these campaigns embody pride with purpose, demonstrating their commitment to queer communities and driving tangible contributions to causes and efforts worldwide.

No matter who you are—a curious reader, a queer creator seeking inspiration, or a brand looking to launch your next purpose-driven or experiential campaign—these examples show how collaboration, community and creativity can raise funds, awareness…and the bar!

8 Brands and Creators Powering Queer Fundraising

Here are several standout queer-led or queer-supportive fundraising initiatives from 2024 that exemplify authentic brand partnerships, influencer involvement, and community impact:

1. Chappell Roan & Propeller: Fan-Powered Fundraising

Pop sensation Chappell Roan isn’t just captivating fans with theatrical ballads and viral performances (both solo and with the legendary Sir Elton John)—she’s also using her platform to fundraise for LGBTQ+ (and reproductive) rights.

Through her partnership with the social impact platform Propeller, fans engage by watching videos, signing petitions, or donating to organizations like the Human Rights Campaign. Points earned can be redeemed for exclusive experiences, while Roan spotlights queer joy and empowerment in her shows by hiring local drag artists and queer dancers.

It’s truly a grassroots-meets-glamour model of accessible, empowering and effective fundraising. Roan and her fans have raised over $260,000 for the cause thus far!

2. Jonathan Bailey’s Shameless Fund x Loewe

When Jonathan Bailey—star of Fellow Travelers—launched The Shameless Fund, he brought with him a mission: support LGBTQ+ mental health, advocacy, and creative freedom. In 2024, his limited-edition Loewe collab featured a T-shirt inspired by his queer character. Proceeds directly fund grassroots LGBTQ+ initiatives.

This campaign demonstrates how celebrity influence can raise money and awareness, particularly when combined with bold fashion and a deeply personal message.

3. Oasis Arts: Sustaining Queer Nightlife

San Francisco's legendary queer club, Oasis, underwent a nonprofit pivot in 2024, establishing Oasis Arts to preserve its legacy and sustain drag culture. With 352 events this year alone, nearly $ 800,000 went to paying queer artists, which is a vital investment in the next generation of talent.

To keep this community-funded model alive, founder D’Arcy Drollinger is planning a Drag-a-thon telethon in June. This act of resistance and preservation, supporting pride and safe spaces, and raising funds brings far more to the community than most ‘nightlife’ venues!

4. Nivea’s #ProudInYourSkin Campaign

For Pride Month, Nivea launched #ProudInYourSkin, a campaign highlighting LGBTQ+ identity and self-love. Featuring bold voices like Morphine Love Dion and Nava Mau, the initiative partnered with PFLAG National to share personal stories and offer resources to queer youth and allies.

This campaign proved that skincare can be about more than surface-level beauty—it can protect, affirm, raise awareness and support LGBTQ+ people from the inside out.

5. MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam: 30 Years of Impact

For over three decades, Mac’s Viva Glam campaign has been setting the standard for beauty-driven fundraising. In 2024, the brand marked 30 years of donating 100% of sales from Viva Glam lipsticks to organizations supporting HIV/AIDS causes. The face of this year's campaign is Trans icon and singer Kim Petras.

With over $535 million raised globally, this legacy demonstrates how sustained advocacy can create a world where health equity and queer liberation go hand in hand.

6. MoveActive’s Love Wins Collection

MoveActive, a wellness brand based in Australia, stepped up with a small but mighty campaign. For Pride 2024, they released a "Love Wins" line of rainbow grip socks, pledging $1 per pair to Minus18, a nonprofit organization that supports queer youth.

It’s a great example of how even a small donation, multiplied by community support, can raise impactful funds and encourage inclusive values in everyday life.

7. MUNA Advocates for Palestinian Queer Solidarity

During their 2024 L.A. Pride set, indie band MUNA didn’t only perform—they educated their audience. The trio displayed a QR code linking to Palestine Asdiqa, a collective raising funds for Palestinian queer communities affected by the conflict.

Their message was clear: pride is intersectional, and global queer solidarity matters. It was a standout moment of advocacy, demonstrating how artists can contribute to the cause by using their platform to amplify voices often left out of conversations.

8. Skittles & GLAAD: Celebrating Diverse LGBTQ+ Communities

Skittles’ partnership with GLAAD has become a Pride staple, and 2024 was no different. Last year’s limited-edition Pride packs featured unique packaging designed by LGBTQ+ artists and storytelling from queer creators across the country. For every pack sold, $1 (up to $100,000) was donated to GLAAD’s ongoing work in media advocacy and education.

Sweet, simple, and full of purpose pride, this campaign continues to push the envelope for inclusive corporate support.

Turning Ideas Into Impact

The fundraisers highlighted above are examples of queer fundraising campaigns that have an impact; they certainly aren’t just “feel good” stories, nor are they the only ones out there!

Instead, they’re compelling evidence that Pride with Purpose is a movement that extends beyond a marketing slogan. They show how intentional, inclusive, and creative campaigns can:

  • Build lasting support for LGBTQ+ organizations
  • Raise critical funds for queer youth, healthcare and safe spaces
  • Foster authentic relationships between brands, creators and their communities

Collectively, they reinforce the value of bold, strategic partnerships and how a single campaign can help protect lives, celebrate diversity and advocate for change through social media platforms, real-world movements, and beyond.
