Work we'd put our names on
Tom, Michael, Noah and Stephanie met at a performance marketing agency in 2010. Over six years, we rose to lead it and drove the strongest growth in its history. That's where we learned the discipline: every dollar tracked, every result measured, every report defended. It still runs through everything we do.
But we kept hitting a ceiling. The service wasn't what we'd want as clients. The creative was fine, and fine doesn't move anyone. The results were good on a spreadsheet and forgettable everywhere else. We couldn't put our names behind it.
"We didn't want to choose between work that looks good and work that performs. So we stopped choosing."Michael Landry, VP of Strategy
Meanwhile, social media was undergoing a seismic shift. Influencer marketing was emerging across Canada and the US, but most agencies still treated creators as talent for hire rather than a legitimate marketing channel. We saw something bigger. Creators weren't just another way to reach an audience. They had the power to build trust, shape culture, and influence decisions in ways traditional advertising simply couldn't.
So we made a bet. Take our performance DNA, the obsession with ROI and outcomes, and marry it to world-class awareness, social and creative. Do it all under one roof. Hire real experts in every corner of digital, not generalists who dabble.
In 2017, that bet became The Influence Agency. Nearly a decade later, it's still the bet we make for every client.
