Through our work, we believe in elevating our clients while also enriching our people and with that privilege, we believe it’s just as important to support our local and global community in any way we can.
For the last three years, through an internal initiative we’ve named #TIACares, we’ve organized various charity initiatives and made donations to organizations that are near and dear to our hearts, in hopes we can make a positive impact on the communities and people it serves. And this year is no different, in fact, the need to give back is greater than ever.
The pandemic has undoubtedly affected communities in ways we’ve never seen before, particularly in our own backyards which is why this year, with your support, we’ve decided to donate to two local charities – Juliette’s Place and Yellow Brick House. Despite all the uncertainty in the world, we hope that through this donation we can make the holiday season a little brighter for the children and families these local charities work to support.
#TIACares wouldn’t be possible without you – our clients and partners! It’s through your ongoing support that we’ve been able to make a difference this holiday season. On behalf of everyone on the TIA Team, thank you and all the best this year ahead.
Greater Toronto Area (GTA) based Julliette’s Place began in 1990 as a not-for-profit collective, offering emergency shelter and support services to abused women with children and homeless families. The twelve bedroom facility was one of the first of its kind in the Greater Toronto Area designed specifically as a shelter. Shortly after launching, the organization altered its mandate to focus on assisting solely abused women and children. The services for women and children that Juliette’s place offers include:
Julliette’s Place offers a safe place where women can start assessing their situation, plan the next steps for themselves and their children, and initiate the healing journey.
Yellow Brick House is a place for abused women and children in the Greater Toronto Area.
Right now, and every single day, there are families here rebuilding their lives. Every woman’s story with Yellow Brick House begins with the courage to leave a dangerous—even deadly—home. They share stories of terror, despair, and tears. But the real story of Yellow Brick House is about empowering women and children to rebuild their lives and give a voice to the untold stories of violence in our community, raising awareness about the need for change, and moving our community forward to the end of violence against women and children.
The core services that Yellow Brick House offers the community include:
Each day, Yellow Brick House upholds their commitment to equality, justice, safety, and compassion for women and children in the community.
