Over the past 12-months, I’ve experienced first hand what it means to be part of an A-Team, this is my year in review of agency life!

Although early in my marketing career, over the past year I’ve had so many positive experiences that have challenged me, encouraged me, and most importantly improved me. Working at The Influence Agency is an uplifting and incredible experience. The Partners, look out for your best interest, and your teammates are always there to pick you up and support you when you’re down. When it came time for me to find another job, I  held out to ensure that where I was heading was the right fit, and of course *meant to be*. I had been sent the open position for Social Content Coordinator by my old friend and decided to apply. What a whirlwind it has been over the past year!

Through working at The Influence Agency, I have gained hands-on experience, first-hand knowledge, and real-life skills, to help catapult my career as a marketer, both personally and professionally.

I want to share my thoughts and experiences over the last year because I know what it means to be a team player on a team that is consistently pushing boundaries and going outside the box!

Let’s begin, shall we?

Special shoutouts to our in-house Multimedia Designer Rocco Bombardieri, who is my hands-down dream to work with and always has my back creatively -- I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished thus far in the creative department, with our GIFs reaching 10+ million views, and our new Face Filters for Instagram reaching over 4K impressions in just a few short weeks. Can’t wait to see what we can do this next year!

Lessons Learned

  • Be less emotional
  • Take time to react when dealing with certain situations
  • Stay headstrong and give myself credit where it’s due
  • Focus, and try to stress less
  • Sometimes emails come across as harsh, don’t take them to heart!

Some Of MY Favourite Memories From The Year

  1. Creating tonnes of original content for my amazing clients
  2. Our Spirit of York Influencer Night in Toronto’s Distillery District
  3. Creating a company-wide process called OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) used to track performance and propel our business forward with employee growth
  4. Getting to know my amazing and hard-working comrades at TIA (Shoutout to the Social Squad and the OGs!)
  5. The Influence Agency’s 2019 Influencer Marketing & Social Media Trends of 2019 Whitepaper that our Partner’s had published into a book!

What’s To Come For This Next Year

I’m so excited for what’s to come this year for myself and our agency! I’m hoping to move into even more of a leadership role, and cannot wait to see the growth of our company! We’re almost at 30 employees -- all diverse, unique, and talented in their own ways. This year I want to spend more time pitching clients, working on content development, original content, and content series, and trying to sell more! I want to utilize my skills as a marketer more and grow my network by attending more training sessions, conventions (virtual or IRL), and speaking engagements.

Beautiful sitting room

Although I’ve worked tirelessly on client work and poured my heart and soul into working the hardest I ever have in my life this past year, I love my job because everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the greater good. Work-Life Balance, is there and this is a major key, and I love that I have a great deal of control and freedom within my job, as our Partners trust and respect us to the tenth-degree. If you’ve ever considered #AgencyLife, or working at a marketing agency, I hope this helps you ultimately make a more informed decision, and who knows, maybe it’ll be The Influence Agency. Come join the team!
