The Importance of An Influencer Invoice

Having an influencer invoice makes everything official. Not only is it required for tax purposes, but it also helps bring peace of mind to both parties that the services will be rendered, and payments will be settled. When it’s all on paper, it makes people think twice about going against what was agreed upon.

What To Include In an Invoice

Before jumping straight to the free download link, it’s important to know what makes an effective content creator invoice template.

This way, you’ll be able to fully understand all the details of an invoice and maybe even create your own template to match your needs down the line.

Here’s how to create an invoice:

1. Your Info

First things first: your contact information should be on your influencer invoice template. This includes the following:

  • Business name or your legal name – If you don’t have a business name, then put your legal name on the invoice instead.
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number

2. Client Info

An influencer invoice template should always include important client information, such as the following:

  • Legal business name
  • Address
  • Contact info

3. Payment Info

To ensure that payment info is clear for both parties and that payments are made seamlessly, you’d definitely want to include these details:

  • Bank account name
  • Bank account number
  • Invoice number – This helps you keep track of payments and transactions throughout your influencer career.
  • Payment date
  • Payment terms – It’s important to remember that payments won’t always be made at once. Sometimes, partnerships last a few months—hooray if they do! In these cases, you’re going to want to make sure all payment terms are well-documented for both parties—whether you’ve agreed on a 30/60/90-day scheme. Plus, being organized is also key to a successful collaboration!

4. Product Description

One of the most important parts of a content creator invoice template is the product description. After all, the main focus of this transaction is the “product” or your influencer services.

If you’re working with a brand on an Instagram influencer campaign, the product description could be as simple as “Instagram influencer campaign with X.”

Then, you’re going to want to include the following info as well:

  • An itemized list of services – e.g. whether it was IG feed posts or stories
  • Quantity – how many pieces of content you’ve agreed to create
  • Total price

5.Signature and a Thank You!

Your influencer invoice template simply wouldn’t be complete without a signature to make it official, and a thank you note to make it thoughtful! As a content creator, you’re going to want to build strong relationships with people and brands. And what better way to do that than by showing gratitude to them for choosing to work with you?
