When you think of Toronto, some of the first few things that instantly come to mind is Drake, the Raptors, and the CN tower– but it doesn’t stop there! Our gorgeous city has so much more to offer than just sports and music. For starters, there’s no end to the number of photos that can be taken that show off the city’s iconic skyline, stunning architecture, and jaw-dropping interiors.
Whether you’re a Toronto native or you’re just passing through, you better get your cameras, hashtags, and Instagram-husbands ready! We sat down with Thirmizi of Distorted Lens, one of our favourite Toronto-based photographers, to get his picks on some of the most photogenic places in Toronto. Here’s what he had to say.
Polson Pier
“Arguably one of the best views of Toronto, Polson Pier is one of my favourite places to see the Toronto Skyline. Go during golden hour and you’ll be able to see the sun set behind the city.”
The Gooderham Building
“Located on the corner of Church Street and Wellington, this iconic building is Toronto’s version of the flatiron. With the right angle, you’re able to see the CN Tower peeking behind the building on the left!”
Bay/King Street Facing Toronto City Hall
“There are plenty of photo opportunities in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District. On the corner of Bay Street and King, is one of my favourite views of the clocktower of Toronto City Hall. It’s always busy here but that makes up the beauty of the shot.”
CN Tower Peek on Bay/King Street
“My favourite view of the CN Tower can be seen through two financial buildings on Bay Street and King above the TD office. You’ll have to cross the street to get the best view of the CN Tower peeking.”
The Esplanade Basketball Court
“I love to shoot here because of the mural on this basketball court as well as the CN Tower at the back. Distillery district isn’t too far of a walk from here if you want to continue exploring the area!”

The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)
“As the name suggests, there’s plenty to appreciate in the AGO. Spectacular architecture and interior design really make this spot a must-visit when in Toronto.”

The Ultimate View of Toronto – A Heli Ride
“You really haven’t experienced a breathtaking view of Toronto until you’ve taken a heli tour around the city. Bring your camera or your phone as there’ll be plenty of photo opps departing from Billy Bishop Airport.”
