2021 marks the 9th annual global generosity movement, GivingTuesday. Once the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales have come to a close, many move their attention towards giving back during the holiday season.

GivingTuesday utilizes the power of social media to help effect real change in our communities around the world, encouraging people to make a donation of their time, resources, and talents to a local charitable organization. In 2020, over 145 countries participated in GivingTuesday efforts and generated 153 million impressions on social media.

“We have two days that are good for the economy. Now we have a day that is good for the community too.”

Organizations We’ve Partnered With

This GivingTuesday, we’d like to highlight some of the organizations and nonprofits that we have worked with and how you can help support them too.

Inside Health

Inside Health aims to support those living with cancer through naturopathic medicine and the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Their programs assist with weight loss, pain management, and cancer care through a variety of different services.

At the start of 2021, TIA partnered with Inside Health in order to help them reach more people by strengthening their search engine optimization, social media presence, and website content.

Visit Inside Health’s website to learn more about the work that they do and ways you can help.

One Spark

One Spark’s mission is to provide opportunities to women and folks experiencing intimate partner violence through entrepreneurship. When women find themselves in situations like this, they are often forced to choose between financial security or their safety. One Spark’s programs aim to eliminate that need to choose altogether by helping women find ways to generate income and become self-sufficient.

Earlier this year, TIA reached out to the One Spark team to donate our time and services with the goal to help establish their brand online and attract donations. We put together a program that updated and optimized their website, enabled them to own their social media presence, and share their story.

You can also support One Spark and the work that they do by visiting their website.

Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction

TIHR is an organization founded in response to the continual colonization and lack of available services for urban Indigenous populations, their work specifically focused on supporting those affected by the current overdose crisis. This includes providing assistance to Indigenous folks who are currently experiencing homelessness due to the city’s housing crisis, with grassroots initiatives in place to provide traditional meals and encampment winterization supplies to those who have to reside outside during the colder months.

At the root of their work, TIHR believes that harm reduction strategies are the best way to aid folks who are experiencing the negative consequences associated with substance abuse. This holiday season, TIA is supporting TIHR through a donation to help their efforts as well as hosting a coat drive on their behalf. To donate to our drive, please contact us.

If you would like to make a donation to Toronto Indigenous Harm Reduction, you can do so by visiting their website.
