This week, we’re putting the spotlight on Victoria Hui!
For Victoria, The Lust Listt started as a hobby and creative outlet and eventually turned into a full-time passion project. By showcasing her love for all things fashion, beauty, food, travel and decor, she elevates digital content creation and brings it to a whole new level with dreamy, romantic qualities evident in each and every one of her photos.

We sat down with her to chat about how she got started so that you all can get to know her a little bit better.
Here’s what she had to say…
How did you get started as a creator?
V: I first began doing what I do over 10 years ago as a creative outlet to express myself while I was still in school studying.
What’s your favourite part of being a creator?
V: One of my favourite aspects is being able to conceive an idea or concept into an actual final product. I love seeing the final image and knowing that I was able to create magic.

What’s your greatest achievement to date?
V: This is hard to say because each day brings new surprises and achievements that I’ve never even envisioned! To date though, by far what I believe to really define my greatest achievement was to be able to turn my hobby of creating content into a full-time career! It was both the scariest and most rewarding decision that I’ve ever made and to this day I don’t regret a single moment of it.

What’s the biggest item on your bucket list?
V: The biggest item on my bucket list would be to purchase a vacation home in Portugal one day!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
V: For the longest time my dream was to live in NYC, but after having the opportunity to travel and explore Europe this past year, I’ve fallen in love with most cities that I think I would be willing to move continents. Portugal is still one of my favourite places that I’ve ever been to and would love to live there one day. Or to at least have a vacation home there! Seeing as Toronto winters get so cold, I wouldn’t even mind being a snowbird and jetting off to Portugal for 4-6 months of the year.

If the 10 year old version of yourself met you, what would they think?
V: I’ve never been asked this, but actually the opposite, “what’s one thing that you would tell your 10-year-old self?”, so this is a tricky question to answer! If the 10-year-old version met me back in 2001, they probably wouldn’t believe that my job was real since it’s so removed from the career of choice at the time. In fact, seeing that Instagram didn’t even exist yet, they probably wouldn’t even believe anything that came out of my mouth!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
V: The best piece of advice that I’ve ever received would probably be “if you can turn what you love into a job, you’ll never work a day in your life”, and it’s the one mantra that I’ve lived by my entire life in order to have the job that I hold now.
Who’s your role model?
V: I don’t have a specific role model per se as I find so many individuals to be inspiring to me. One that comes to mind, in particular, is Chriselle Lim. I find her to be such a powerful woman who has not only been successful in her career of branding herself as a personality, but also has her own content production house, her own clothing label, and has such a beautiful family as well. I one day hope to be able to balance all of these things myself one day!

Favourite restaurant in the city?
V: Sushi, it has to be sushi. That’s the one thing that I could never give up eating.
Favourite brand?
V: I don’t have one particular favourite brand as there are so many that I love. However, brands that I’m currently loving include Chanel (for beautifully constructed bags), Rimowa (for the smoothest roll), and Zara (for the best options when it comes to trends).
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be?
V: I would absolutely love the opportunity to have dinner with Anna Wintour to discuss in which direction does she see the fashion industry evolving, and what sort of changes that she’s noticed over the course of her tenure as EIC at Vogue.
And there you have it! We hope that you got to know Victoria a little better and developed a greater understanding of how she got to where she is now.
