Planning Your Instagram Content

Behind how you make yourself appear, captivate the audience and provide eye-catching content, there is the importance of planning your Instagram content. This is important because the use of colour, aesthetic and design schemes can help build your audience and brand awareness. Planning your Instagram content also plays into consistency, in which it allows you to plan your feed well in advance, in case you forget or are too busy to post images regularly.

Whether you’re a blogger, photographer, fashionista, model or a brand, we’ll be taking you through some important themes with regards to planning your Instagram content through 3rd party apps, and ultimately leading you towards the path of Instagram success!

Let’s get into it!

Instagram or social media marketing is about creativity and consistency, when you put those two things together it can really help create a movement behind a particular social channel. Posting multiple times, a day, and every day a week is important to help build brand awareness and get your name and content out there. You want to ensure people outside and inside your audience are consistently seeing you /wp-admin/plugin-install.phpin their feeds, but not aggressively.

This is where 3rd party apps Hootsuite, Apphi,, and Sprout come into play, they allow you to elevate your brand and ensure consistency, allowing you more time to focus on creating content or even the stability to keep your 9-5!

Time is money, and if you’re looking to make better use of social media this year as part of your 2020 digital marketing strategy, you should be looking to the world of apps. Condense your time spent planning and manually posting Instagram content by using an app on your desktop or mobile phone and having it scheduled days, weeks or months in advance.

Schedulers, in-app editing, in-app cropping, hashtag finders, content and caption libraries, all things to allow you to save time when posting on Instagram! We all don’t have enough time as it is in a day for everything we want to do, and the best Instagram accounts schedule their posts in advance.

Many of these 3rd party apps allow you to see your optimal times for posting, and so does Instagram analytics. It’s important that you use these tools and information to build out your habits and marketing plan for using the app. You can create content or social media calendars before uploading your photos into the scheduler’s and be able to have a clearer picture of what look and feel you want to achieve.

Ensure you also look to analytics on your following and demographics and ensure that you’re appealing to the masses by using that information when considering when and what to post.

Planning your Instagram 7-14 days in advance or upwards of that, enables you to have more time to produce new content, hands down! The ability to have all your content scheduled and ready to go with imagery/content, captions, and hashtags is one of the best things you can do for building a following within the Instagram platform.

With the algorithm constantly changing, this enables Instagram to see that you are a really active user, your producing content that’s being seen and engaged with, and that you want to showcase your work on the platform. This can also help with stay ahead of trends, planning for National Holidays, or simply while you’re away on holiday and easily keep track of what you have scheduled within the apps.

Creating a cohesive Instagram aesthetic for your feeds it the most desire-worthy edge to a lot of major Instagram accounts. When doing this to your own it really can level up your current strategy, boost your engagement and allow you to gain more followers and get more eyes on you and what you’re doing!

Start thinking of your images and content from all angels, think about how they would look beside, below, above and around each other. Think about how they will look on the feed as a whole both on mobile and desktop, and what’s important to be able to see your images flow!

There are really great apps out there that have many capabilities, it’s important you try them all out before deciding what’s the best one for you and your business!
